Very nice pre WWII period Italian Navy Officer's sword. Sculptured crowned lion's head pommel with mane backstrap. The reverse knuckle-bow culminating into a "cup" guard with a Crowned Anchor. The front of cup end wit nice Head of Eagle (Mussolini Period). Wire wrapped white sharkskin grip. Double edged 30 1/2 inches long blade, engraved with the state Coat of Arms, military and floral motifs and on reverse - the "House of Savoy Eagle". No maker name on the blade. Blade is nickel plated and almost all nickel remains. Nice black leather scabbard with engraved brass fittings. Great condition leather and brass. Imposed anchor on the tip. Sword comes with original portepee in nice but fragile condition.
