Very nice British pattern 1879-1901 midshipman Naval Dirk. 18" Blade and 23" overall. Blade is well etched with the Royal Coat Arms. Ricasso is etched "Manton & Co. England". Reverse is etched with crown over fouled anchor. Leather scabbard, brass hilt with lion's head pommel. Grip is covered with fish skin and wrapped with triple wire. Black leather covered scabbard with brass fittings.
Condition: Excellent. Shiny blade with no rust or pitting, great hilt with working,great locking device. Great grip with no cuts or tears to the fish skin and solid, very tight wire. Scabbard is sound with light wear and no losses to the leather. Solid brass with no dings or scratches.
Excellent dirk.
