Very nice English pattern 1828 basket-hilted infantry officer's broadsword for Highland regiments. Beautiful two fullered blade with crisp etching of the Argyle and Southerland Highlanders, named to "Lt. R. D. Stevenson 1914". Both sides of the the blade has also Initials "JL"under Duchy Crown, small animals and the motto "Sans Feur" and "Obliviscar" (motto of the Duke of Argyl, Clan Cambell).  Basket hilt with no liner and original fish skin covered grip and wig. Scabbard is nickel plated.
Condition: near excellent. Clean blade with no rust or pitting, nice basket hilt and pommel with some spots of patina, perfect fish skin grip with strong, tight wire wrap. Perfect scabbard with all nickel intact and no dings or bends.
Overall super broadsword - named 1928 sword are extremely scarce.
