Very nice Turkish Shamshir sword from the end of Ottoman era, XIX Century. Clean, curved 33 inches long blade with well defined sharp point. The hilt in Arabic style (probably Syrian) made from horn with many small nails as decoration. Steel, Persian style crossguard. secured to the grip with tree resin and silver wire. Scabbard covered with brown leather with silvered fitting and steel hangers. There are two blue stones near the throat. Condition: Very clean blade with no rust or pitting. Grip is solidly attached with no movement. There is a very small chip on the right side by the pommel. Solid scabbard with nothing missing and all leather present. Overall a very nice example of Ottoman Shamshir.
