XVIII-XIX Century Caucasian Shashqua, probably used by one of the Tzar Imperial Guard Regiment judging by the Imperial Crown on the side of the pommel. Interesting Hungarian style hand forged blade with still visible faint engraving of Hungarian Crest and writings. Hungarian blades had a great reputation in Caucasus, so many locally forged blades had copies of Hungarian inscriptions, probably to increase their values."Eisenhauer" (real steel, clearly visible by the grip. Grip is made from one piece of walrus ivory with silver Imperial Crown on the left side of the pommel. Nice leather scabbard with silver black fittings. Condition: Sharp combat blade with uniform patina and pitting. Solid grip with no chips, only some hairline cracks. Scabbard with complete leather and no damage whatsoever. Great addition to Shashqua collection.
