Beautiful  Persian Shamshir from first half of 17th Century - Asad Allah's workshop. Massive 30 inches, double fullered and nicely curved Damascus blade in classical style with blade being equal width on entire length. There is an "Asad Allah's" signature on one side under "Kitmir Dog" in the circle (protector of the seven sleepers in Koran). The hilt is a classic Persian "Baburname" style with steel crossbar and pommel. The grip scale are of ivory. Black leather covered scabbard with steel attachments and long steel chiseled toe.
Condition: very good. The blade showing wear to Damascus pattern but it is still very sharp and quite clean except few darker spots close to hilt and tip - see photos. No deep rust or pitting - it could clean rather nicely if desired. Hilt is solid but scales show age. Very good scabbard with nice patina on the metal and good solid leather with no cuts or tears. The leather on the scabbard is probably younger then the rest.
