Incredible Austrian M-1769/70 broadsword carried by Sergeant-Major (Wachtmeister) of Austrian heavy cavalry like Cuirassiers and Dragoons. Massive weapon, 34.5 inches long ad 1.5 inches wide blade engraved on both sides with Imperial Double Headed Eagle. Round brass pommel with single guard. Leather covered grip with ridges. Scabbard made of wood covered with leather and brass (not many of this type of scabbards survived since they were replaced with all metal ones in later years). Black portepee has FJI initials, so it is about 50 years younger then sword.
Excellent condition for its age. All complete and nothing missing. Leather on scabbard was not restored and is very hard.
