Very nice Turkish Pala (short sword) about late 18th early 19th century. Sharply curved 27 inch watered (Damascus) blade flaring at the spine and towards the point. Base of the blade with silver koftgari panels. Maker name inside silver Star of David. Brass crossguard and horn grip scales with bulbous pommel. Leather and brass covered scabbard. Two hanging rings on opposite sides.Condition: Very good. Blade showing wear to watered pattern, scattered light pitting, several combat nicks to the edge and missing much of the silver overlay. One grip scale showing filled area at pommel. Scabbard mounts with some dents, the drag with partially open seam and some old solder repairs.  Excellent leather with no cuts.
