Interesting Pandur sword made in 1746. Pandurs were light infantry military units used by Austrian Habsburg Monarchy from 1740, fighting in the War of Austrian Succession and in Silesian Wars. Pandurs were mostly Hungarians but Croats and Wallachians also served with them. they were fearless  and sometimes brutal troops.  In today Austria two armored personnel carriers made by Steyr-Daimler bear name "Pandur" in honor of those units.
The sword is in the shape of typical Hungarian sword with brass hilt and leather covered grip. Blade is 32 inches long and 1.25 inches wide. It has a Hungarian Crest with Latin text:
"Pugno pro Patria" (I fight for the Country) on one side and "Si Deus pro nobis quis contra nos" (If God be for us who can be against us) on the other. There is a maker signature on the spine: "M: Johannes Mayrhofer of Passau 1946". No scabbard - light leather infantry scabbards never survive.
Condition: Nice blade with some pitting toward the tip (see photos). Very good brass hilt covered with uniform patina and very good leather grip with no leather missing.
This is a rare  almost 300 year old sword, great addition to any sword collection.
