Wonderful Hungarian Hussar Sabre made in "W. Neustadt anno 1745" and so inscribed on the spine. Blade is also inscribed on both sides with the "Head of Turk" and inscription: "Soli Deo Gloria" - "For the Glory of God"on one side and "Vincer aut Mori" - "Win or Die" on the other. Long curved 36" blade, shiny with few dark patina spots. Overall lenght is 43". Scabbard is in great condition with original leather present. Leather is dry and fragile, but this is how it should be in original condition. Scabbard has one very old repair to the top hanger ring, probably field repair by the way it was done - see photo. Great sword and hard to find in this un-cleaned, un-polished and un-oiled original condition.
