English pattern 1796 light cavalry officer's sword with steel scabbard. The 32.5  by 1.25  inch blued and gilded blade is etched with a Crown over Royal cipher, dragoon on horse and panoply of arms and flora. The other side has the crowned Crest of "House of Hanover"and some flora design. Polished steel hilt and pommel with black wood (mahogany?) grip with thee strands of twisted silver wire. Polished steel scabbard with two rings.
Condition: beautiful blade with with lots of blue and gold and no rust or pitting. Great polished steel hilt and pommel turning to uniform patina.  Very good grip with just couple of bug holes and silver wire turned to black but tight on solid on the grip. Very good steel polished scabbard  with lots of surface pitting and couple of door dings on the back side.
Great sword for advanced collector.
