Spanish Berdan Model 1867 Short Rifle, This is a conversion of Belgian percussion rifle M.1857/59 to breechloading Berdan I configuration performed at Spanish "YBARZABAL EIBAR" arsenal in late 1860-s. Caliber: 15 mm rimmed. Overall length is 48.25 inches. Two band rifle with steel furniture. Spanish model designation: " Fusil para Cazadores Mo.1867".  Left side of the barrel stamped with Belgian "ELG" over Star in the oval. "Crown over R" stamped on the breechblock and on the rear of barrel. Serial number stamped on the back of receiver and right side of breechblock. No other markings visible on metal parts or the stock. No cleaning rod.
Condition: Slight wear to profiles and markings, dark grey finish to all metal, very good stock with heavy bruising, dings and scratches but no major damage. Fine bore with strong rifling. Mechanically excellent, action work great. Serial number: 266  Scarce!
