Interesting Polish Infantry Officer Sword Wz.21 with old organically etched Russian blade. After WWI Poland regained independence but Polish industry was in terrible shape. Many Polish Army Officers to have a sword not just for parades but for combat, installed older Russian or French blades. This sword is just one of those. The rest of the sword: hilt grip and scabbard was made by Polish sword maker of the period "Borowski" in Warsaw.
Nice original condition - unrestored. Russian blade still show organic flowery etching on both sides. Blade was used in combat, it shows sharpening and few nicks on the cutting edge. Blade is 30 inches long and 1.25 inches wide. Hilt made of brass covered with nice patina. Leather on the grip shows age, but no cracks and all leather is there. Brass wire solid. Scabbard has no bends or dents. It was originally nickel plated, but only about 60% of nickel remains and exposed iron shows dark patina and spots of rust.
Great and rare sword.
(the leather items shown are included with the sword but they are reproduction, not original)
