DESCRIPTION: Beautifully preserved Imperial German military flaregun from the World War One era. This type of flaregun is often called, "Hebel". It was manufactured by several Imperial German and Austro-Hungarian companies. Imperial German proofs, "Crown over A", "Crown over B" and "4" (in the circle) are stamped on the right side of the barrel and frame. Imperial German World War One era acceptance mark "Crowned Eagle" is also stamped on the right side of the barrel and frame. The left side of the frame displays maker's markings, "Gebr. R" (stamped behind the serial number). High quality of machining and metal finish. Original military style two-piece wooden grips. Barrel length: 9 inch. Complete with the lanyard ring. CONDITION: Excellent. 96% of original, blue finish is still on metal, with a balance turning to brown patina. The flaregun shows an honest service wear. Occasional small patches or light patina and/or peppering. All the markings and numbers are clearly visible on the metal. All the internal parts of the flaregun are in excellent condition, with no visible wear. The action works fine. Bore is in excellent condition. Original wooden grips with no cracks, but with some minor handling marks. All complete and in as issued condition. The World War One era Imperial German military flaregun in all original condition!
