Price: $1475.00
Dutch Navy M.1818 percussion pistol. Caliber: 17.5 mm. Dutch arsenal conversion from flintlock to percussion, as indicated by the shape of the lockplate. The upper part of the lockplate displays following markings, "SB 18". The stock shows some hand scratched markings, symbols and figures (please, see pictures). The brass parts of the pistols, screws and hammer display "Crowns" over letter "D", or "T". The pistol was most likely manufactured in 1818, as indicated by a date stamped on the lockplate (omitting the first two digits). Walnut stock. Brass trigger guard, butt and counter plate. Steel nose cap. Typical Dutch style hammer. The English-style ramrod, that should be attached the barrel, is missing. Complete with the lanyard ring. Dutch percussion pistols are relatively difficult to find on the collector market. CONDITION: Very good+. The steel parts of the pistol are covered with a layer of heavy, dark patina. Some spots of rough metal on the barrel, around the percussion nipple. The pistol needs professional cleaning. Percussion lock works fine. Fine bore. The percussion nipple is somewhat worn. The walnut stock shows some wear and many dings and scratches. There is a chip in the right/upper part of the stock, just above the lockplate (please, see pictures). There is also a small hairline crack in the left/upper part of the stock, just above the upper counter screw (please, see pictures). All the internal parts of the pistol are in very good condition, with some minor wear. Scarce Dutch Navy M.1818 percussion pistol!
