Greek 19th Century miquelet pistol. Caliber: 16 mm. The style of the pistol reflects both, Oriental and European influences. Miquelet lock. The lock plate does not show any markings. Typical Balkan style stock is covered with brass plates, that are decorated with engraved floral and geometrical motifs. Brass butt with nice engravings. Iron trigger guard. Half-octagonal, half-round barrel. The upper part of the barrel displays some floral style decoration and three brass gunsmith marks (please, see pictures). The lock works fine. The bore is in very good condition. Overall length: 20 inch. Barrel length: 12 inch. (Ref. "Islamic Weapons. Maghrib to Moghul", by Anthony C. Tirri, pp.159-165)
