Portuguese M.1937 Mauser bayonet. This is a standard Nazi M.1884/98 bayonet used with K98k Mauser short rifles. These bayonets were manufactured in Nazi Germany for export to Portugal. Portuguese serial number is stamped on the pommel, "D 15757". Hardwood grips. The pommel displays two Nazi eagles. Single edge blade with a fuller. The blade does not show any markings, which is correct for Portuguese issued bayonets. Beautiful blue finish on the blade. Complete with a German issue steel scabbard. The scabbard displays maker markings and a production date, "42 asw". The serial number is stamped on the opposite side of the scabbard, "7618". The scabbard tip displays a Nazi eagle. CONDITION: Fine. The bayonet has about 76% of blue finish left, mixed with some patina. Hardwood grips are in very good condition. Very clean blade without any sharpening marks.
