Late production Austro-Hungarian M.1895 Mannlicher carbine bayonet. This is M.1895 carbine bayonet with the sight mounted on the top of the muzzle ring (larger blade variation). The blade displays Dual Austro-Hungarian Monarchy Crest (Austrian and Hungarian crests next to each other; emperor Karl I). The other side of the blade displays, "AB". The hilt displays regimental markings, "PB. 3 79.". Single edged blade. Complete with a steel scabbard. The latter was manufactured at the OEWG (Oesterreichische Waffenfabriks - Gesellschaft, Steyr) arsenal and is also marked with a Double Headed Eagle of Austro-Hungary. Both, the blade and scabbard also display the First Austrian Republic eagle. CONDITION: Fine. The blade is in fine condition with light sharpening marks. Some light patina on the hilt and crossguard. The wooden grips are in excellent condition. The scabbard is free of dents and shows about 85% of blue finish. (Janzen p. 10/1)
